To give some specific examples on how I intend to change things up, I have talked to a friend of mine who is much more into audio/visual things, namely that he's the founder of an internet-based TV station. He made recommendations on a camera and a mic setup to get started with, as well as lighting, to start making recorded videos to upload to YouTube and/or Bitchute.
I still need to get my backdrop set up, and identify and start using a video editing software, but those are the last major hurdles before I can start uploading videos. For now, the stuff will all be recorded, I won't be doing anything live, in part because that's another small collection of equipment and software to learn, and I'd rather not try to swallow an entire elephant at once.
As for topics, I'll probably talk about R/C and full-sized cars, maybe some video games, and definitely scripture.
For example, there are many "read through the Bible in a year" programs, and perhaps I could just read through a passage in one video, have a link to a soundcloud of the audio file, and then a separate video which provided some commentary. If people liked what I read, but don't care to hear my opinion, this would give folks ways to listen to the Bible in a year.
I also intend to set up an R/C track in my backyard, and am working to fix and modify an older K10 pickup to do expedition style of-road-trips, which will also likely involve me using my R/C crawlers at the campsites, so things I learn and experience partaking in those rather wholesome hobbies might be of interest to other folks.
I won't be doing any gun content, because there is Paul Harrell for that, and nothing I do would compare.
With video games, I am hesitant because my computer is rather old, and I don't really want to replace it yet, because I can still play new games fine. I think I can get another 5 years or so out of it, and then at that time I'll do another build. For example, I've been enjoying The Division 2, and while my graphics aren't turned up very high, it's still a fun game and I am enjoying it.
The blog will likely be where I keep transcripts of videos as well, as it seems like for the folks who don't want to watch a video of a topic, having a text alternative would be nice.
So that's the goal for now. Some fun topics, some deep ones, and figure out the software and get comfortable talking to a camera.
