Daily Bible Study - Proverbs 10:26

As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes,
So is the lazy man to those who send him.

Proverbs 10:26 (NKJV).

When you are lazy, you are an offense to those around you. This isn't complicated, this will be a shorter post, because there isn't that much to say other than: don't be lazy.

If people dislike your presence, ask yourself if you've been lazy. If you've tried to make jokes about why your responsibilities are incomplete or unaddressed, it doesn't matter if people laughed along with or smiled and nodded.

Nobody enjoys the company of a lazy person. Don't be a lazy person.

If those you are around are kind enough, they'll just tell you to your face their issue. If those around you are cruel, they'll cloak the issue so as to avoid upsetting you, or prompting any reason for them to continue interacting in any degree.

For those who have worked in an office environment, especially when it is difficult to fire someone, there is a game that managers play in trying to shuffle worthless people around to mazimize the productivity of their team. This type of movement tends to backfire in that successful teams are often broken up to have the teammates go and work with other teams, to try and be a positive influence on them. But it doesn't work that way.  Never does.

Don't be a lazy person, there's nothing that you can do which offsets this lack of character. don't make excuses, don't make jokes, don't try and compensate, just don't be lazy.

People may disagree with someone who gets things done, for how they accomplish and what they accomplish, but that type of resentment is not at all like the acrimony saved for those who do nothing at all.
